Day 3 – A Lovely Day

Lets be grateful today for our family, our friends, our homes, our work, and our pets. Lets be grateful for the sun, the water that we drink, the food that we eat, and the air that we breathe; without any of them we wouldn’t be alive.

Lets be grateful for the trees, the animals, the oceans, the birds, the flowers, the plants, blue skies, rain, the stars, the moon, mountains, rivers and our beautiful planet.

Lets be grateful for the transportation we use every day. Lets be grateful for all the companies that provide us with essential services so that we live a comfortable life. So many human beings worked so hard so that we can turn on a tap and have fresh running water. So many men and women dedicated the best part of their lives so that we can flick a light switch and have electricity. Countless beings – not just human beings – slaved day after day, year after year, to lay train tracks across our planet and so many people did the backbreaking work of making the roads we walk and drive on.

Every grain of rice we eat, ever strawberry and every piece of bread is the result of the incredibly hard work of countless human beings and animals. Every grain of rice. Lets be grateful to all those people we’ll never meet without them we wouldn’t be having the life we’re having.

No matter where we are in life. No matter how our day, our week or even our year looks like. We can always find at least ten people of situations to be grateful for. All we need to do is divert our attention towards them. That is how easy it is to give love through gratitude.

When we’re grateful for what we have, no matter how small it might be, we will receive more of those things. If we are grateful for a relationship we have, even if it’s not perfect, it will become better. If we are grateful for the job we have, even if it is not our dream job, we will have more opportunities. If we are grateful for the money we have, however little money, we will end up with more money.

And the best part is that with every experience of authentic gratitude we experience even more gratitude. We see more beauty. Appreciate more  beings, more situations, more. Just more.

May our hearts be filled with gratitude and appreciation. May we have a lovely day. May we always be happy.

with much metta

thank you, dear adva, and to all the other people on the project :)!
you and the project are a part of my daily gratitude practice!
it’s great to try to see each moment the beauty, alongside whatever is there to challange my comfort habits 🙂
the list of things and beings i’m grateful for is growing longer each day, and happiness arises with it.
    what a great idea!
may we all remember that happiness is not a personal matter, and that creating happinessis very powerfull.
