When we intentionally divert our attention to gratitude and appreciation we’re not only feeling better, we’re literally changing the content of our thoughts. We create the opportunity to change our destiny. That, of course, goes to any thoughts conducive to our personal development and well being such as the intention to be mindful and present or thoughts of love, compassion, joy and equanimity (known in the Buddhist terminology as the Brahama Viharas or the divine abodes).
